  I am an ex JW - I was d'fed 4 years ago and have never looked back. Life is great!
  
  It seems a shame to me that so many on here are still JW's, I suspect they want to get out but are finding the Organisation too controlling.
  
  Anyway we all look forward to your comments.

  Absolutely definitely New York - but you will need more than 3 days.
  
  Rome is a must - It's full of history and beautiful people, they certainly are the best dressers in the world.
  
  London for it's fantastic blend of history and the ultra modern, it's got the best of everything including cuisine.
  
  Cape Town - fantastic location and stunning views from Table Mountain and some fantastic drives to the winelands and the Cape peninsula.

  Boycotting Israel

  i see that quite a few are following the dreadful attacks in lebanon.

  today i went swimming to cool off with mr c and we were discussing what ways we could make our disapproval and anger at israels actions felt, besides being human shields.

  (mr c reckons i'm big enough to stop one missile, but would be pretty useless after that.

  Virtually all the worlds diamonds go through Israel for one reason or another - don't boycott them because as every one knows diamonds are a girls best friend!
  
  Anyway, Britain and America support Israels actions so should we boycott our own country? I think not.
  
  Leave it to market forces.

  i used to feel it was the catholic religion because of all its rituals.

  then i felt it was the latter day saints with all thier "personal testimony" and "prophet" doctrines.

  finally, after reading about the watchtower's history i've settled on the view that they are all equal.. how did you feel about it when you were a witnoid?.

  Yes I thought it was the Catholics who were the worst. It didn't help that I have some relatives from the Protestant side of Belfast - one day we went to a KH in Belfast and my grandmother told me that the sister and her family sitting in the front row were Catholics - I think she meant WERE Catholics!
  
  I still dislike them but I have attended a very moving Catholic funeral.

  i just read that british politicians are going to start banning shirtless men.

  apparently too many fatsos walking around displaying their man-boobs.

  wouldn't peer pressure and/or ridicule be more effective than legislation?

  As a child growing up under mega spiritual parents - 10+
  
  Getting baptised at the age of 18 - 10-
  
  Getting married at the age of 21 to the only available Witless girl - 8
  
  Being appointed a MS and giving public talks etc - 9
  
  Associating with'weaker' ones and trying to enjoy life whilst being a Witto - 6
  
  When my marriage was breaking up and I was recieving 'counsel' - 3
  
  Now I'm remarried, d'fed and very happy I think on a scale of 1-10 it must be 9.5 it's not the 'troof'.
  
  However, got to keep the 0.5 in there just in case.
  
  Oh no, wait a minute, an elder told me when I was being d'fed that because I was deliberately about to take a wrong course I would be sinning against the 'spirit' so I could never come back to Gods Org if I wanted to. So it's a 10 then!

  Night Owl or Early Bird?

  i can't sleep, i'm usually up until 2 (or later) every night.......then the alarm goes off at 6:30 and i'm up to start my day.

  i find that i'm more alert and productive in the night time, however i am sooo tired of not being able to sleep.

  so how about you, night owl or early bird?

  CodeBlue- I mirror your thoughts exactly. Only last night I was up watching TV from 1.00am until 3.00am because i couldn't sleep.
  
  On the thread of whether one is a night owl or not, all I can say is I've noticed that if I wake up feeling very tired, within half an hour I will feel fine. However, if I wake up feeling quite alert, I know that it won't be long until I feel very tired again. Weird huh?

  the latest release, live with jehovah's day in mind, states on page 107:a christian who loves kindness will certianly not exploit his fellow worshippers.

  for example, he realises that it would be neither proper nor kind to start a business or promote an investment scheme that targets felllow believers as the main customers.

  it would display greed, which christians are warned against, to plan on making money hastily by exploitng fellow christians.

  Hasn't ther just been a big scandal in the US invlolving two 'brothers' who fleeced fellow Witto's (mainly elderly) out of millions of dollars?
  
  Perhaps the WTBTS knew the story was about to break and they responded with an even harder line than they were already adopting.
